Move a tab

You can access move a tab up through:

• Main menu: Tabs → Move tab up
• Command: Move Tab Container Up
• Shortcut: Generic ANSI: CmdOrCtrl+Alt+] · Generic ISO: CmdOrCtrl+Alt+.

You can access move a tab down through:

• Main menu: Tabs → Move tab down
• Command: Move Tab Container Down
• Shortcut: Generic ANSI: CmdOrCtrl+Alt+[ · Generic ISO: CmdOrCtrl+Alt+,

Note

Remember that when you move a tab up or down, you’re not moving a single tab, but the tab container.

Also, you can move a tab to a new desktop or window.

You can access move a tab to a target through:

• Command: Move Tab
• Context menu: Move...

Depending on the context, the Move… submenu may also show additional entries:

• Split into selected tab — shown when the right-clicked tab is not the currently focused tab. It turns that tab into a split sibling of the active one without opening a duplicate.
• Move as a child of selected — shown when the active tab has the Open tabs as child option enabled (see child tabs). Choosing it moves the right-clicked tab into a brand-new child container under the active tab, attaching it the same way tabs opened from that parent are attached.
• Move to top level — shown at the top when the right-clicked tab is a child of another tab container. It detaches the child from its parent (the child keeps its own tabs and any children it had).
